WE ARE AVAILABLE TO SUPPORT YOU

We are a free, confidential listening and information service

WE SUPPORT:

  • Any woman, over 18 years of age, who is now or has in the past been in an intimate abusive relationship.  Abuse can include Physical, Emotional, Financial or Sexual Violence.  We are here for you regardless of whether you have been in the relationship a week / for many years or have left an abusive relationship.
  • A friend or family member of a woman who is in an abusive relationship.
  • Professional and community organisations via telephone support and training around domestic violence.

WHEN YOU CONTACT US:

  • we will listen to you and support you.
  • we will not judge you or tell you what to do.  It is our belief that you are the only person qualified to make decisions for your life.
  • we will continue to support you no matter what your choices.
  • we will keep your confidentiality

HOW TO CONTACT US:

  • Our main Freephone Helpline day is on Tuesday from 10am to 4pm but this Helpline will be answered on other weekdays when there is a trained support worker available.  Phone 1800 203 136.
  • You can drop-in to our Bantry office on Tuesdays 10am to 4pm when you can meet a support worker.  You can also make an appointment for other weekdays or in other places in West Cork if you cannot get to our offices.
  • Drop-in is available at our Skibbereen office where you can meet a support worker every Friday from 11am to 2pm.
  • Our office line is available on weekdays from 10am to 1pm and on afternoons when staff are in the office.  Our admin worker will transfer you to a Support Worker if possible or can tell you when to call back or can make an appointment for you to meet with a support worker.  Phone 027 53847

SERVICES PROVIDED

  • Ongoing support for you whatever your choice may be.
  • We can provide you with information on (for example) court orders, housing entitlements and can refer you to other appropriate services, for example Citizens' Information Service, Women's refuges, Rape Crisis services, Money Advice Budgeting Services.
  • We can go with you to Court for a Domestic Violence Order or to the Garda Station to make a statement.
  • We can provide transport for you in a crisis.
  • We can advocate on your behalf.
  • We can provide education, training and information programmes for professionsals, community groups and school education.  Please phone the office on 027 53847 for information on our Education and training programmes.
