Referral to other Agencies
Each Support Worker has knowledge of the services that operate in the Cork area and nationally. Each person’s situation is unique; therefore any referral is tailored specifically to the needs and requirements of that person’s situation. The client is the person who takes the initiative in making that contact, with the Support Worker assisting her if she wishes. When a Support Worker receives a report of suspected or actual child abuse, she will report her concerns to the Child Protection Designated Officer who will decide whether there are reasonable grounds for reporting the incident or suspicion to the appropriate agency. Referrals can be made to places of safety, support services, social, legal, financial or other information services
